How do I get involved?
Once you’ve visited Medway for the first time, we consider you part of the Medway family. And we truly believe that to get the most from your church family, you have to do more than just show on Sunday mornings, which is why we offer many different ways for you to get connected with other people and to start serving others.
Here are some of the best initial steps you can take to get involved:
- Join a small group – Although they may seem intimidating at first, you’ll quickly find that joining a small group might be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make. This group of 6 to 12 people will be there to help you with whatever is it you struggle with in life, to be a shoulder to cry on, and to be the kind of friends that will help you take the next step with God, whatever that step might be. There are groups for men, groups for women, groups for couples, even groups for people who like to sew and knit!
- Take a class – As Medway continues to grow, so too does the number of great classes we’re offering to our members. One of the most popular classes is the Crown Financial Bible Study, which teaches people how to start handling their money God’s way, and has received rave reviews across the board from people who have taken the class. There are also several different Bible studies that will help you learn more about who God is and how He wants you to live your life.
- Find a way to serve – Serving is a big part of the Medway culture, and when you have three services every Sunday morning, yet only two full-time staff members (a head pastor and a youth pastor), there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. We have people whose “job” is to wash dishes and serve breakfast. We have people who videotape the services, people who create the cds of our services, people who clean during the week, and people who take out the trash and put up chairs after worship. There is no job too small at Medway. The important thing is that you’re doing something to help others in our church or others in our community, and you’ll find that it can be a very rewarding experience and a great way to make friends!
